The most common knee
wraps and grip pads used for athletes is made from medical grade nylon. These
knee wraps are designed to be used by athletes, with a great deal of stress
being placed on their knees as they move around during activities. Each of these
pieces of equipment can be very useful to the athlete in many different ways.
THE REASON WHY YOU NEED KNEE WRAP?
One of the reasons why
you need to use a knee wrap is because it will give you extra protection
against damage to your knees. There are quite a few causes of injury to the
knees such as basketball, football, baseball, track, running, rowing, cycling,
skiing, mountain climbing, jumping, and swimming. When using these sports you
can expect to have a lot of impacts.
Grips pads are not
exactly the same as knee wraps. They are usually thicker and are made to fit
around the shin and ankle. These pads do offer protection but they can be a
little more comfortable than knee wraps.
There are also foam
knee wraps available. These tend to offer more comfort than the standard
medical grade nylon ones. Some of these pads even have clips that allow you to
clip them onto your shoes to provide greater protection, which is particularly
useful if you are training.
You may have seen some
sort of shoe or sneaker that has gripped toe tape on them. This is a type of
shock absorber that works by absorbing impact energy. This prevents the shock

ALTERNATIVE OF GRIP PADS OR BETTER
Of course, you can
always have an alternative when you are out on the grass. A kneepad is often
more appropriate than grip pads. Knee wraps tend to be a little more expensive
but can be great value if you get them custom made and taken away to a
professional.
One other thing to
remember is that knee wraps and grip pads are made to protect your knees, and
they will not be able to help with keeping your knee joint pain free. Sometimes
just a little support is all you need to be able to continue with your sporting
activities without too much pain. This also applies to knee wraps.
So what is the
difference between knee wraps and grip pads? If you are someone who is
constantly experiencing pain in your knee joint, then a knee wrap may be the
best solution for you. You should not use a knee wrap for more than three to
four weeks at a time as it can actually be detrimental to your knee joints.
Another factor to
consider is that the knee wrap may make your knees stronger, but it is not a
good idea to try and hold onto a knee wrap after the initial first fitting.
Because your knees are more likely to get sore from holding onto the wrap, it
may actually make your knees weaker. It is important to find the right fit and
not try and force it into your knee joint.
On the other hand, you
should never buy knee pads and grips pads separately. If you do that you can
end up spending more money than you had to buy the knee wrap alone. You also do
not want to take the two pieces of equipment and try and fit them onto your own
knees which is probably an impossible task in the first place.
The bottom line is
that knee wraps and grip pads are very similar in nature. You should make
sure that you find the right fit when buying your equipment. As with any
sporting activity you need to make sure that you get the right support for your
knees so that you can enjoy your activity to the fullest.
